Alvaro Morata could end up costing Man Utd £180m, Those wages for the Spain international would amount to just over £90m, with Real demanding £90m themselves as a transfer fee.
United have had an opening bid of £65m for the 24-year-old rejected.
Real president Florentino Perez is aware of the contract offer from United and insists the transfer fee should reflect it.The Old Trafford club broke the world transfer record last summer when they splashed £89m on Paul Pogba, beating Real’s purchase of £86m Gareth Bale.
According to insiders, Perez has told United chiefs that their willingness to pay £100m for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann has set the bar for negotiations.
